Tifway 419 Bermuda is the most widely used turfgrass and has been an industry standard for residential and commercial lawns, athletic fields and golf courses for over 50 years. It’s dense, rapid spreading, fine-bladed growth habit makes it quickly able to recover from injury, making it one of the most durable bermudagrass choices. It tolerates close mowing and is highly disease resistant. Full sun is required, a minimum of 8 hours daily. It performs exceptionally well in heat and drought conditions by slightly going into dormancy to protect itself and recovers quickly when conditions improve. With it’s deep, dark green color, it was designed for durability and beauty.
Specifically selected for its superior drought and wear tolerance compared to other bermudagrass varieties. TIFTUF™ uses less water and stays green longer when subjected to drought stress. TIFTUF™ has been rigorously developed and tested for more than two decades by a team of researchers led by Dr. Wayne Hanna and Dr. Brian Schwartz at the University of Georgia’s Tifton Campus.
Emerald produces an extremely dense, fine textured turf with emerald green color. Emerald is an excellent grass for southern states. It is drought tolerant due to its deep root structure. The grass exhibits a dense creeping growth, rather than an aggressive upward, or sprawling growth. The blade density is much higher than other grasses, giving a very dense, carpet-like appearance and feel. The thick dense blades act as a natural weed deterrent and give it excellent wear tolerance.
Palisades a medium-textured grass that is noted for its shade tolerance and low water use requirements. It is used on residential, commercial, and golf sites. When compared to St. Augustine, Palisades has a comparable shade tolerance, requires less water and fertilizer, and is a thicker, denser turfgrass. During extremely dry periods, Palisades requires less watering than some varieties.
Centipede grass is known for its excellent heat tolerance and extremely low maintenance requirements. A favorite lawn of a lot of homeowners.
Centipede is a full sun grass.
